The springhouse in Trexler Memorial Park, Allentown, Pennsylvania isn't exactly in the woods but looks as though it could be on this December day. This log cabin was part of the summer estate of General Harry C. Trexler (1854-1933), an American industrialist who built a business empire in Allentown. The park is his namesake.

What a peaceful shot ! I love the peace and serenity of winter, don't you ? Here in the Colorado Rockies at about 9000 feet above sea level where many people live, the coming of winter is anything but softly. It comes with a bang. We usually get our first snow storm of the season sometime around the end of September or the beginning of October. It continuers to snow off n' on for about 8 months until May of the following year. On very rare occasions, we've even had small amounts of snow in early summer believe it or not.

Thanks very much Bijan! Yes winter does have it's own beauty for sure. But snow from Sept-May in the Rockies ... that would be a bit too much winter beauty for me:)
