Description
Beautiful white-tailed deer that I've been blessed to photograph since he was a fawn enjoys an August day in 2013 as a young buck, My Favorite Yearling. I photographed him so often I named him Skippy. Sometimes he'd see me before I saw him and would walk up behind me and quietly stand there, waiting for his apple! Watching him grow up was such a joy, and he'd let me just photograph him whether he was eating apples I brought him, grazing, or seemingly posing for a photo. This portrait of him with his velvet antlers depicts the last day I saw him before he migrated away as young bucks do. I just pray he's safe and healthy wherever he is, always my favorite yearling.

I can see that you're quite an animal lover, Tami. You must have a heart of gold, my lady. You must be carrying so much love in your heart. I admire that.
Tami Quigley replied:
Oh, that's so very nice of you to say, thanks so much Bijan! Yes I love animals, and it was really special to watch this yearling grow from a fawn and that he knew me, would come right up to me waiting for his apple:) Thanks again!

A beautiful image, most don't realize how difficult it is to get a capture as nice as this;)
Tami Quigley replied:
Many thanks Jack, truly appreciate it! I built up a trust with him since he was fawn, and it was such a blessing to be able to photograph him that whole first year of his life til he migrated away:)

Fantastic image and colors, Tami. What a fine buck he is, love his velvet antlers. f/l
Tami Quigley replied:
Thanks so very much Karen, really appreciate it! Though I am very lucky to be able to still photograph his mother doe and her new fawns since he migrated away, he really was special. Never before could I just "hang out" and photograph a deer for long periods of time while he grazed. He loves the camera I do believe!

What a beauty Tami; I love the vibrant color and he appears to be posing for you...awesome work! jd
Tami Quigley replied:
Many thanks Joyce! Since he migrated away last year I've still been blessed to photograph his mother doe and her new fawns, but he will always be my fave. I really do think he liked to pose, every since he was a fawn:)

great capture Tami...l/f/t
Tami Quigley replied:
Many thanks Chris! After watching him grow up since he was a fawn, sadly this day last August was the last time I saw him before he migrated away. Would be great if he came back this year:)
